What symbolizes your life's work?
Can you guess the elements of my personal logo? For many years they were interspersed throughout my work. Delighting in the company of kitties removed one potential element...design work gave way to...well, yes, the first element in this logo...a pen!
The second element is a paint brush, referencing the years in which I painted (or supervised the painting of) the spaces of clients needing enhancement.
The third element is a geometric flower, referring to design accents I have brought to the homes and businesses of the executives and organizations for whom I have worked.
This placard presents the Ws of media releases...but it doesn't address the Why and How of the organization offering an event. For decades I have strived to help individuals, entrepreneurs, and the executives of profit and non-profit organizations achieve their personal and professional goals.

Throughout my personal and professional life, wordsmithing has been at the heart of my endeavors.
The performing arts, teaching, research, non-fiction, fiction, marketing, public performance and motivational speaking have all required me to expand my abilities to communicate with people of myriad backgrounds.
Sadly, I've never achieved the quality of penmanship desired by my teachers...
In fiction and non-fiction, I draw on my experience in the performing arts, commerce and education. As both an author and co-author, I try to bring a humorous and engaging voice to articles and essays that have appeared in business, literary professional and general readership publications, including: Newport This Week, Broker World, he Hawai'i Medical Journal; The Rotarian, and Under Sonoran Skies, Prose and Poetry from the High Desert [a top 50 pick for 2012 by Southwest Books of the Year]. In the award-winning The Natalie Seachrist Hawaiian Mysteries, I take inspiration from the people and stories of Hawaiʻi, where I lived for over twenty years.
Academically, I was accepted for membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society, while completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of Hawaiʻi. During graduate studies of post-World War II Japan, I became a member of Phi Alpha Theta and received a teaching assistantship in the World Civilization Program in the History Department of the University of Hawai`i. I am also a member of Sisters in Crime, Arizona Mystery Writers, the National Writers Union, and a lifetime member of the Highland Division of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
My public addresses are noted for intercultural references and historical asides. Focusing on life's synchronicity, I strive to bring an integrated perspective to seminars for diverse groups of professionals and the general public. As a consulting wordsmith, I draw on my interdisciplinary background to assist writers, authors, and other creative professionals achieve their desired potential. The greatest compliment I receive as a wordsmith and design consultant to entrepreneurs, creative professionals, executives, and their organizations, is "You said what I would have said, if I knew how, but you didn't change me!"
